These people are the worst. They're probably even more annoying than the turtle slowpokes in the hallways, because usually slow texters are the ones who initiate the texting process in the first place.
They'll ask you something or comment on something else, and you'll respond instantly, and they don't respond back. Now, I know you didn't die in the three seconds it took me to text you back, so an acknowledgment would be fantastic. I don't exist to entertain you, so a little appreciation that I actually take the time to text you would definitely be warranted (and even if somehow I did exist to entertain you, I don't work for free--you better be paying me).
Texting can be really extraordinarily fun, especially if you're texting someone who's really witty. But if this witty person is also slow, it can get irritating pretty quickly. If this witty person is actually not that witty, well, then it's not worth it at all. Especially when these not-so-witty-people are asking you for help. A quick response of "thank you" would be just fine; we're not picky.
I can get that sometimes something comes up--car accidents, muggings, accidental spider bites that have you climbing walls and fighting evil dudes. Those things happen, and it's excusable if it's one time, or even two or three. But consistently being a late texter is not a-okay, it's just not. It means that you don't really care about our texting-bonding time, and while I'm all for independence and stuff, that's kind of insulting.
Don't be a slow texter. Answer promptly, no matter if they texted you first or if you texted them first (in which case you should be texting them lightning-speed).
Don't be those people. It's not pleasant to be on the receiving end, trust me.
